![]() if management read this, please say hello to her from Lorraine and Richie. Imelda, our lovely little barmaid was wonderful, she works so hard and always has a smile on her face. weather on our first week was very stormy and overcast, but dont be fooled if you cannot see the sun, still wear your sun screen because the sun still will get through the clouds. couldnt go on the third trip to Coca Bongo as i had the usual upset tummy, nothing to do with the food though, probably too much sun. we went to cancun on the speedboat tirp, that was a great half day too. xel ha was amazing, we snorkelled with an assortment of fish, the food there was lovely, the whole day was amzing. we used to take bread with us and the fish would come to us and take it from our hands. ![]() the beach has been washed away a bit, but as other reviews state, get off your butts and walk a bit, the lagoon to the right of the hotel (about 15 minutes walk) is beautiful. we went in all the restaurants, no need to pre-book which was great. we were facinated by the racoons, coatis', iguanas and birds for the first couple of days and then accepted them as pets from then on in!!! we even shared our room for ten minutes with a huge blue crab, i spent those ten minutes jumping up and down on the bed while hubby removed it! food was good. the gardens are lovely, full of wild life. the staff here work endlessly to keep everywhere tidy. Just returned from our relaxing holiday at Ocean Maya. Overall a relaxing vacation getaway for the right price. The hotel grounds are huge with it also being a timeshare all of the buildings look the same and you hav eto do some serious walking to get from the dining to the pool and beach. ![]() We would stay here again especially for the price. So, if you are looking for a sandy beach with water access, this is not the hotel for you. There is probably 20 foot of missing sand. The one thing that i can say is that two years prior to this we stayed at the Secrets Capri which is 2 hotels down from this one and the beach has eroded significantly in those two years. There is no beach access to the water at the hotel which was fine for us because we just relaxed by the pool. The rooms were average but for sleeping we dont require anything special. We travel every year to Playa del Carmen and love the area. I had it figured out and was 95% sure that this was the hotel we would be staying at for a mini vataion of 3 nights after Christmas. I actually booked it through and paid $99 per night for both my husband and myself for the all inclusive. This hotel had to be the best price I've ever paid for a vacation over the Christmas Holiday. The hotel grounds are huge with it also being a timeshare all of the buildings look the same and you hav eto do some serious walking to get from the. ![]() ![]()
